What seems to be happening is that the glitch occurred when the update was pushed out, though it’s still unclear why it’s sending photos to just one contact in the owner’s list.įor now, the only temporary fix is to revoke permissions from the Samsung Messages app and use a different messenger app. The current theory among Samsung enthusiasts is that it has to do with the recent RCS messaging update to the old SMS standard. Samsung has so far acknowledged the issue and said it’s investigating. In addition, this seems to be happening with mostly later devices like the Galaxy Note 8 and Galaxy S9. However, there’s no register of such a message being sent from the affected devices. The weird part is, the photos seem to be shared through Samsung’s messaging app, likely as an MMS or SMS with a link. One user described how all his photos were sent to his girlfriend, while another described his and his wife’s phones exchanging camera rolls overnight. Samsung smartphone owners have begun complaining on Reddit as well as official forums, saying their device broadcast the camera roll without permission. You see, some of them are sending your camera roll to your contacts all on their own. No, we’re not necessarily talking about it blowing up, but it’s equally bad.
